I live in Chicago, IL in the US. However, I have traced my ancestry back to John Hoeye (born Oct 1789). We think he came to the US from Ireland in 1809. I cannot find any information about him or his family in Ireland. It's become clear to me that his last name must have been Hoey, and maybe added the "e" at the end of his name when he arrived in the US. Would really love any information anyone might have about him from Ireland.
